to sleep
Oh sleep
I need you
I want you
But I can never seem to get enough
It always seems to be so tough
To get you
Just the thought of having you makes me want you even more
But I know I'll never get you because my homework keeps me up
til' four --- in the morning
I just need a warning
And I don't need any scorning
Cuz you are what i am adoring
Whenever I am away - from you
I wish I could spend all day - with you
But that satisfaction is too far away
So I just need to pray,
And hope that some day,
I'll get sleep.

(A satirical slam poem I wrote in the midst of finals week)
Fashion
That
Exposes
Your Desire
to be

In this paper for my
English 103 Honors
class, I discussed
the semiotics and
rhetoric behind the very
clothes we choose to
wear. Looking through
the lens of Sigmund
Freud's Psychoanalytic Theory, I analyzed my favorite outfit, and discussed how seemingly-mundane clothing choices can reveal our insecurities, worries, doubts, and defense mechanisms. This writing transformed how I view decision-making and helped me become a critical thinker.

The Bystander Effect: A Research Project
In the fall of 2019, I took Psychology 101 Honors.
At the end of the semester, we were asked to write a research paper on a psychological concept.

I chose the Bystander Effect.

This is that paper.
At the end of that class, I designed and wrote this presentation (to the left) inspired by my research paper.
I was then selected to represent my school at the annual UCI Spring Research Conference, and this is what I would have presented, if Covid-19 had not led to it's cancellation.

Regardless, this project taught me the importance of taking individual initiative and helping those in danger.
